Frequently Asked Questions
Why are some characters missing, e.g. Saxton Hale?
One of my objectives in creating Adventure of Times was to keep all the characters from the original TF2 storyline in also AoT's storyline, although some characters' background etc. had to be changed. i have succeeded very well in this objective, but e.g. Saxton Hale's character felt unfitting for Aot's more serious story, so he won't be seen in the series. He is still part of the Adventure of Times' universe, but he will be mentioned to be missing and won't be anymore running Mann Co. HE will appear in some way for the episode "Mission Down Under". Merasmus and Old Nick will only appear in special episodes, as they are supernatural characters.
Are the episodes supposed to work as a TV-series or as a movie divided in many parts?
My original objective was to have the episodes follow the storyline very strictly, like a movie divided in many parts, but now, as there are much more episodes than before, some of them have their own little story going on, like Rosebud-trilogy. But overall, they all are still supposed to be linked together, some of which more or less. (like the special episodes, Halloween and such)
Have you thought in which format could the series be released: Video, book or comic?
My original objective was to release it in a four-part video, as there was only one episode. But now when the series has evolved so much, it seems to be quite unlikely to be a complete video-series, as it would take so much time to take, at least from one person. A movie could also be possible, but then the series should be cut very short, leaving many episodes out (and what about the two other seasons?). For now, the biggest possibilities are a comic and a book. A comic-version of AoT would take much less time because of no need to animate etc. A book could also be very possible, but because of my non-native English skills, it is not very sure.
What are you going to do for your language?
You might have definitely seen some strange grammar mistakes and unfitting words here and there, that's because English isn't my native language. This has given me lots of restrictions, but I will keep writing information on this page in English. My objective is that even if the grammar isn't always perfect, I try to at least write every word correctly and try to keep sentences understandable, even if they sometimes feel a bit weird. (Writing short synopses is usually the hardest part for me)
What has been your inspiration?
I would say that music has been the strongest inspiration for me. I have even created a collection of music which I like and could fit in the series, which you can find in the soundtrack section. I will tell about other inspiration sources later.
Why did you chose Team Fortress 2's style for Black Rose?
It is a known fact that Team Fortress 2 has a very unique style for a FPS-game, which nowadays aim to be realistic and thus being quite grayish and brownish. Team fortress 2 also works best in Source Filmmaker and because I have no skills in modelling or drawing, this is pretty much my only way to create the story of Adventure of Times without being just plain text.
